Michael Burke, David Lantz Unaware They Are A Comedy Team
With their hilarious put-downs of each other and classic back-and-forth bickering in front of group, Michael Burke and David Lantz are quietly becoming one of the trip's favorite comedy teams, sources reported Friday.
Though Burke and Lantz remain unaware of their comedy duo status, friends maintain that the duo's uproarious act, including their famous frosty hellos, fiery exchanges, and barely tolerating each other, is more than enough reason to check them out.
'They're the perfect odd couple,' said Sam Hoffman, a self-described fan, who has watched the pair perform countless times over the years. ‘Whether they're accusing one another’s team for cheating on the golf course, quietly grumbling about each other, or delivering one of their trademark zingers, Burke and Lantz never disappoint. I can listen to them all night long and not get tired of it.’
‘They're the perfect odd couple’
According to sources, Burke and Lantz are best known for their rapid-fire exchanges, impeccable timing, and ability to play off each other's triggers. Witnesses claim the duo excels at a wide variety of comedic styles, from the observational musings of Lantz to more slapstick fare coming from the Burke end.
‘They do this thing where they're both grumbling at each other, but they're focused on completely different things, and, like, they don't realize it the entire time,’ said Hoffman. ‘I've seen that one maybe 3 or 4 times now.’
In addition to their sidesplitting, off-color fights, Burke and Lantz are famous for several different characters they play. These include Lantz’ ‘overly harsh critic’ or his ‘buzzy upper lipper’ versus Burke's ‘weed guy’ and his ‘melodramatic wine drunk’, a reoccurring character who yells at the top of his lungs over minor inconveniences to scream his catchphrase, ‘Are you kidding me?!’

‘Sometimes it's not so much what they say, but more their physical mannerisms that crack me up,’ said Hoffman. ‘When Lantz asked Burke if he was ‘really going to wear those elephant shorts?’, Burke shot him this deadpan look that was absolutely priceless.’
The duo perform all around the coast. Over the past few years, Burke and Lantz have done their act at the Jetty Fishery pier, in line at the San Dune, and anywhere outside where Burke can question why Lantz doesn’t wear sunscreen.
'They typically do all their tried-and-true stuff on the first tee box,’ reported the group. 'You know, rolling their eyes after glancing at each other and quipping at any opportunity.'
'Well, I was watching them last year when they rolled out an amazing new bit,’ Hoffman continued. ‘I don't remember it exactly, but it started with Burke’s golf ball accidentally falling off a tee during a practice swing, and then, I think, Lantz, he just lets out this monster sigh, which makes Burke angry, so he — and this is the crazy part — Burke looks at him all red faced and shouts, '[expletive] off, Lantz!'‘
At press time, the group was shrugging their shoulders in disbelief to exclaim, 'How do they come up with this stuff?'
