Nehalem Bay – it is not down on any map; true places never are.
By Sam Hoffman – Self proclaimed crabbing expert
I make it a point to get really tuned up on the first night. The bros look to me to set the tone for the weekend.
I raid the fridge at 1:45 AM and wake up the house to announce I am going to bed.
Come morning, everyone sees I am hungover, but it doesn't stop me as I take charge of the boat to direct crabbing activities between naps.
After crabbing, I boldly declare I was only pretending to be hungover!

When Jeremy Pfarr was asked 'Why do you climb mountains?', he replied simply: 'Because they're there.'
Because some challenges are meant to be met. Join the climb through the Coastal Range and finish with a view of the Pacific Ocean.

Hey Guys,
As the most skilled player in the group, it has been a privilege watching the rest of you develop a rudimentary understanding of the game.
This year, I don't want to see any 4-hits, lifts, or net touches. Let's have another great tournament!
– Austin Lanier
'A tradition like any other' – Michael Burke
The chief objective of the Manzanita Invitational is to stage a golf show that is enjoyable to all – patrons, player guests, and interested golfers generally. We would also like, if we can, to contribute something to the advancement of the game.
This is what we came for, and while the field includes a group of elite golfers from around the world, the favorite has to be James Meyer.
Have fun ... and keep it moving!

'A rite of passage: Where boys become men, and some of the men get burned.' – Kyle Tull
Dancing naked around a fire changes a man.
It awakens something buried, something forgotten from times 10,000 years past. Times when men would go into the jungle; we would hunt, bang on drums, and kill game with our bare hands.
Your primal scream will finally let out. You will be heard. You will be understood.

Best pizza west of Nehalem.
Made better wolfed down on the beachfront
Made worse by vagrants trying to score a slice
Listen closely for the sound of McGarry complaining about a lack of meat pizza
You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Since 1935, heavy drinkers and music fans far and wide have recognized the San Dune as Manzanita’s best watering hole with live music.
Tired of watching Barnes and Hennessy on the dance floor? Head out to the back patio for a breath of fresh air.
Many great acts headline the Dune, but we can only hope for Erotic City.
'100 miles of pain and humiliation.' – Pat McGarry
A perfect century ride for more decorated riders. The first 50 miles cover wine country, scenic farmlands, short hills, and one big climb. The second half travels along streams, through dense forest, and over rolling hills. Overall, this route is challenging and absolutely gorgeous.

We have a great route lined up. The hill starts 30 miles in, and should you fall behind, I will leave you.
So saddle up, and get to the lunch stop at mile 63.
After lunch, it is a quick jaunt past Tillamook into Manzanita.
